Jirra's URGENT SURGERY FUND

We are fundraising for Jirra Twist, One of our boys in the U18s for the Queensland Fij Youth Rugby Union team. A promising and talented player was injured while playing for Queensland Fiji in the Pacific Youth Rugby festival down Sunshine Coast on Oct 28th - 30th.

Initially, Jirra was told that he had sprained his knee and to rest it for two weeks. It was not healing, so Jirra went for another MRI only to be told that he had done more than a sprained knee and had ruptured his ACL.

Unfortunately, he was misdiagnosed and will need to have an operation that costs 12grand; Team Insurance cover is only 3grand, leaving Jirra to fork out 9grand out of pocket and not have private insurance.

Jirra is contracted with the Queensland Cowboys and took the risk to play for Queensland Fiji as his Mum is from Vanuabalavu, Lau. However, does not have any regrets about representing his Mum and Fijian family. We feel It is only fitting that we help him with his operation costs as he is already down since missing out on the 2023 season.

For him to keep his contract, he needs to have the operation as soon as possible, which is scheduled for the 16th Dec
