Jinx’s treatment

Donation protected
Little Jinx is just 2 years old in August and alongside his twin brother Puddin, is a much loved part of our family

My gorgeous boy somehow managed to crawl home late on Thursday 21st July 2022 after playing near home as usual and we didn’t have a clue what happened to him when he fell back into the house

We rushed him to the vet who explained that Jinx had been shot (with a shotgun). He sustained horrendous injuries to his back left leg, right leg, front paw and had numerous shotgun bearings removed from all 3 that day, but he still needed an operation to remove further pieces and he would possibly loose his back leg.

He was taken to a specialist surgery in Sheffield where they pinned his back leg in 6 places but has sadly had to have his front toe amputated

We have to keep him contained in a crate until he is safe to be out on his own and he doesn’t understand what is happening when he tries to stand up and falls

He needs 24hr care to administer all his medications, hand feed & toilet him….we are exhausted and heartbroken, but he is such a brave, strong willed, loving little soul and he is 1000% worth it.

My children are horrified and so upset. Puddin doesn’t understand what is going on and wants his brother to play with him

Jinx’s treatment has now reached £4K which luckily has been covered by his insurance. This has paid for the initial appointment £1000 - sedation, bullet removal, x rays, dressings & medication.
A further £3K covered the 3hr operation to try to save his leg and remove the remaining shrapnel. Jinx needs further check ups, medication, dressing changes, an X Ray in 6 weeks time (to check if leg is healing and does not need amputating ) and finally a further operation to remove the pins.

I’m beside myself with worry as I’ve no idea how I will cover this. I had no idea the insurance would be used in under a week, and I’m still in shock that this could happen so close to home.

The amount set to raise is an approximate quote by the vet but if there is any raised over what is needed, this will be donated to ‘Oldham cat rescue’.

Any help towards Jinx’s treatment would be so greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for reading his journey ❤️❤️
