Jim's Surgery and Cancer Treatment

As most people know Jim, our dad, was first diagnosed with Gastrointestinal Cancer in summer 2016 and since then he has been diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC). With aggressive treatment the Gastrointestinal Cancer has gone away however, the SCLC is very aggressive and keeps moving.

Jim has already had lung surgery to remove one of the lobes from his right lung. Since that surgery the cancer has moved to another one of the lobes is right lung and metastasized in his right temporal lobe of his brain. Jim has done radiation treatment on his brain the shrink the tumor, but the doctors think the best chance to get the cancer is to do surgery.

We are hoping he can get the surgery before the 1st of the new year, if not he has to pay for his deductible in full before having the surgery. The doctors have some priority cases before his, so getting in before January is not looking good. We are planning ahead to pay the deductible and help with the long recovery process.

Of course brain surgery comes with possible side effects. There is a chance Jim will need memory and speech therapy. Recovery also means taking a good deal of time off work. Jim has continued working through the process out of necessity and love for his work. The need to work to pay for the expensive medical bills is a big stressor. So many people have helped already, which has been amazing.
There is so much love and support from so many people.

Our dad and us kids are so incredibly grateful and saying thank you does not expresses how blessed he and us kids feel. Please keep our dad in your thoughts and prayers. And contributions would help lessen the financial stress so our dad can focus on his health and recovery.
