On December 17, 2017, a very good man and a great friend departed this world way too soon. Jim Donaghy of Springboro, Ohio left us suddenly to be with our Lord.
For those of you who knew Jim, we all remember that he was the king of the one-liners, the quick retorts, and fast humor. He was a funny man who brightened every room and every gathering with his presence. He was easy to know, fun to hang with, and respected by all who knew him.
Jim was also a very giving person. He knew what it meant to give of his time, talents and treasures. Sometimes he gave when he noticed great need, while at other times he gave when the cause was something for which he had great passion. It is with the thought of his greatest passion that his friends have decided to establish this Go Fund Me account.
While Jim was passionate about many things, nothing came close to the passion he felt for his family. Jean, to whom he always referred to as his young bride, along with his sons Sam and Luke, were always at the top of his mind and at the center of his being. Sam is 19 and a freshman at Miami University. Luke is a high school senior who is still working on his college search.
Jim leaves a significant legacy, however, none greater than the legacy of his two sons. We are establishing this fund in Jim’s memory solely to support the existing college accounts for Sam and Luke Donaghy. I know both boys well, and am confident this is an investment that will pay dividends for years to come.
Many people have reached out asking what could be done to support the family. The friends of Jim Donaghy cannot think of a better way to honor our dear friend than to invest in the education of his two sons in his memory. Thank you for your consideration of this incredibly worthy cause.
