Jackie Acree Recovery Fund

We’re starting this fund for our Mother, Jackie Acree. On October 3rd, 2017 our father, Jim Acree, passed away suddenly due to unknown causes, most likely related to failing health. He had been suffering from the effects of a traumatic brain injury since August of 1993 after falling from the roof of our home while painting. Prior to this accident, he was one that was always eager to provide for his family and others. This injury left him paralyzed on the right side of his body and limited his mobility, as well as his ability to perform daily tasks. For the past 24 years our mother has been his primary care giver, being certified to care for him, and being compensated as such. After his death, our mom, Jackie, will no longer receive monetary compensation and will struggle to make ends meet.

Jim and Jackie have been married for 55 years. They met in Junior High, and Jackie doesn't know life without Jim. Many remember Jim’s generosity and giving spirit, as he was always one to step up and help anyone in need. Jim always welcomed people into his home for celebrations and events, and all that attended felt his warmth. He was an amazing host, always ready with a cold drink in a frosty mug when you walked in the door.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jackie, his daughter, Kim, two sons – Tracy and Kit, along with 5 grandchildren – Isabelle, Ross, Olivia, Lauren, and Ava.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate monetary donations to Jackie, which will help defer memorial costs and offset daily living expenses.
