For the first time in Jefferson High School history, two DECA members will be attending the DECA International Career Development Conference. This year's conference is in Atlanta, GA from April 21-25.  DECA is an international student organization that prepares high school and college students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.

Whitney Chwala and Taylor Wedge will be giving a presentation about our School Based Enterprise (SBE), The Eagles' Nest.  Earlier this semester, Whitney, Taylor, Sam Cincotta, and Sam McClure wrote a 30 page paper discussing the business and marketing policies and procedures used by our school store.  As a result of their work, our school store has received national recognition from DECA as a Gold Certified SBE.  The presentation Whitney and Taylor will give will be a portion of this paper and they will be competing against students nationwide.

DECA, in conjunction with FBLA, raise money through traditional fundraisers earlier in the school year. The high level of success both chapters are experiencing this year has caused a shortfall. We are hoping to raise enough funds to offset some of the expenses for travel to state and national conferences. Would you be willing to help?

We are looking to cover $375 for registration, $750 for flights,  and $1,020 for our four night hotel stay.
