HAILEY'S STORY
On August 20th, 2017 my beautiful niece was born. Eight hours after birth, doctors realized something was very wrong and Hailey was taken by ambulance to another hospital for immediate lifesaving surgery.
Hailey was diagnosed with an extremely rare congenital malformation, which requires 3 life-saving surgeries before she is one year old. Although Cheryl, Vince and Liam were terrified with the news, Hailey proved herself to be a fighter, and responded very well to her first two surgeries.
Haileys final surgery is scheduled for Monday April 16th! It has been a long and difficult few months, and we are happy this part of the journey is almost over! Hailey will have a life long disability, but our family committed to providing her with everything she will need to have as normal of a life as possible.
Immediately following Haileys birth, Vince had to leave his job to juggle child care for Liam, and visits to the hospital. Cheryl had to return to work 10 weeks after Hailey was born, and Vince stayed home to provide the necessary at home care until Hailey’s third surgery could be complete. Their family has been living in somewhat of a bubble since August, trying to keep Hailey healthy for each surgery, and trying to make sure big brother Liam feels loved and valued.
Many people have been asking how they can help.
We would like to gift Cheryl, Vince, Liam and Hailey with some financial aid, to assist with the debts acquired since their journey with Hailey began.
Thank you,
Cindy, Christine and Carolyn (Cheryl's sisters)
