Brandon Monney Organ Transplant

Brandon Monney is an active and mostly healthy 19 year old with one major exception; Brandon requires a new liver and kidney.
Brandon was born with a rare genetic liver disorder called Alagille Syndrome. This disease caused his liver to function abnormally, and Brandon received state of the art care to manage his symptoms. For 19 years, Brandon had very few problems directly related to his liver disorder, and grew up happy and healthy. This all changed earlier this year.
In late 2014, Brandon was admitted to Lurie's Children's hospital in Chicago for a stay of several weeks. During this stay, it was determined that he was suffering from acute kidney failure. Doctors were at a loss as to why the kidneys had failed, and Brandon was stabilized and sent home on dialysis 3 times per week. As more tests were performed, it soon became apparent that the liver was also failing, and a transplant of both the liver and kidney would be required. In early December, Brandon contracted an infection which caused an additional stay at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, and delayed the transplant process.
As of today (12/29/2014), Brandon is on the transplant list for a liver and kidney. We have not yet received the good news about the organs, but hope to very soon. The transplant will be performed at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago.
His parents, Linda and Jeff Monney, have spent many nights sleeping on hospital chairs/couches, eating fast food, and spending large amounts of money in fuel to make the 6 hour roundtrip. These trips will only become more frequent, as after the transplant surgery Brandon will need to be seen in Chicago 3 times per week for a month, and twice a week for the following two months.
We are asking for any donation to help with this difficult and lengthy process. Donations will help Linda and Jeff offset the costs of missed work, fuel, food, parking, and of course medical expenses. It is expected that the cost of transplant and follow up care will exceed $1,000,000.00.
