Katie Pudas Memorial Fund
Donation protected
As some of you may know, Katie Pudas, was tragically killed in an accident while vacationing in Vietnam. We are so deeply saddened by this devastating news. The outpouring of emotion has been overwhelming. There have been many requests for, “what can I do?”, “can I contribute in some way?”, “where can I send a condolence card?”. While the Pudas’ have coverage for some of the costs through their benefits provider, there are additional expenses that need attention. We have set up a Katie Pudas Memorial Fund for anyone interested and willing to donate. Festo will also match dollar for dollar up to $5,000, as well. Our hope is that this will provide a level of reassurance that we are thinking of the Pudas family during this difficult time and hopefully give them one less thing to worry about regarding some expenses.
Katie had just graduated from the University of Kansas in May in only 3 years and has been working part time and taking several vacations with her friends. She just turned 21 on July 9. Her most recent adventure was a trip to Asia with a friend of hers from high school. They started in Bali Indonesia, went to Bangkok, Thailand and then on to Vietnam. They were going to end the trip in Indonesia and then return back in the USA on July 31.
While sightseeing in Northern Vietnam very close to the Chinese border, the scooter Katie was riding became involved in an accident. She was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead at the hospital after her arrival.
Our deepest condolences to the Pudas family.
Sincerely,
Your Festo Family
