Many of you are friends of Pam Goodfellow and are fully aware of her story the last two months.  However, let me re-tell that story in case some are unaware:

On November 24 Pam was admitted to the ER in Pasadena and sent home with very strong pain killers.  On November 26 Pam met with her surgeon.  She was admitted to Huntington Hospital on November 28 for tests and exploration.  She had surgery on December removing her right hip, hardware and prosthetics.  The surgeon inserted antibiotic beads to fight the infection that was life threatening at this point.  She remained in the hospital until December 22 and is now living with her daughter Carrie.  She continues to receive antibiotic infusions every eight hours which will continue for at least one more week.  These infusions are very debilitating, causing extreme nausea and weakness.  When the antiobic regime has been completed the doctor will meet with Pam to duscss options.  The doctor is hoping to do another major surgery in February or March and insert another artificial hip.  There is no assurance even with the new hip that walking will be possible in the future.

Pam had only just recently been working for Disney Corporation.  She has no sick leave, vacation or pension funds to draw from.  Financially this has and will continue to be more than challenging.

As one of her long time friends I'm reaching out and hoping that many of her past students, mentees, colleagues and friends would be able to contribute to her ongoing personal expenses while she is incapapble of working or supporting herself.  I have set up a bank account here in the Seattle area on her behalf.  Carrie will be forwarding me her bills and I will attempt to stay as current as possible given how much I have to work with.  Her monthly expenses including car payement, health insurance, cell phone amount to around $1,000 per month.  ANY amount you could give to help Pam at this critical time would be most appreciated.
