Hurricane Maria Relief

As you’ve seen in the news, Hurricane Maria hit the islands hard. I’ve lost the only connection I had left of my dear mother, who passed away when I was 23.  She left me my childhood home, the only legacy she could provide for me.
 
However, the roof has been destroyed in the latest storms and every day it goes without being repaired risks the rest of the structure as well. 

I have contacted FEMA, but not sure if there is enough help there due to the massive devastation in all the islands and mainland from these back-to-back storms.

I am not a person who can easily ask for help however I am in dire need of any assistance.  And my family and friends in the islands are struggling as well.  I am trying to be an advocate here while they are an advocate there.  We are typically self-sufficient and take care of our own. 

But this time, the need is too great, we are all stretched thin.  I know everyone here is as well, but please consider helping, as I would help you in the same situation.

I’ve started this GoFundMe page to raise $20,000.00 if possible.  This will assist in replacing the roof and repairing any structural damage that may occur and any money that is not used for that purpose will be shared with others who are in the same predicament. 

There are several families, including relatives, in that area that are struggling to come up with monies for repairs, but may not have a strong enough voice to advocate for themselves, just trying to survive day-to-day at this point, let alone work through the various systems for support beyond food, water and basic supplies.   

 I am reaching out to friends, family, acquaintances anyone who would be generous enough to assist.
