Jeff's Road to Recovery

On the morning of December 1st, 2017 our brother Jeffery Sanders was on his way to work when he was involved in a violent accident. A truck came across the median and hit Jeffery's vehicle causing it to roll into a ditch. He was then life flighted to the hospital with critical injuries and underwent surgery. During surgery, Jeffrey’s spleen was removed and his stomach was relocated back to his abdomen, as it had been pushed into his chest during the accident. His lungs were collapsed and he was placed on a ventilator to allow them time to heal. Other injuries include: bruised kidney and liver, broken neck, fractured hip, and a fractured back. He also has required a blood transfusion. Jeffrey has remained in the ICU since the day of the accident. Also involved in the accident was Jeffrey’s dog, Zeus. He was taken to the vet with life-threatening injuries that included swelling on the brain, a broken snout, and seizures and unresponsiveness related to his injuries. After speaking with the vet, our family made the heart-breaking decision to lay Zeus to rest.

Unfortunately, Jeffery does not have health insurance and only liability car insurance. He will be out of work for months to come and now has the responsibility of vet bills, a care flight bill, a totaled car, and hospital bills.

Our family is asking for any help that you can provide. We want his recovery to be as smooth as possible without the stress and worry over finances.
