ASSISTANCE NEEDED FOR SURGERIES

 

My name is Jewel Williams and I am fifty (50) years old. In March 2019, I started experiencing pain and cramps in my left arm, slurred speech and shortness of breath and when I suddenly collapsed, I was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation by family members then admitted to the institution. Upon medical investigations, I was diagnosed with “Pituitary Macroadenoma” (attached are photographs of the medical reports) and I was then referred to the Neurology Clinic for management by Dr. Amarnauth Dukhi.

 

On my last review by Dr. Crandon and Dr. Dukhi in August 2019, I was advised that I should undergo surgery as early as possible. Unfortunately, this type of surgery cannot be facilitated locally but is available in Trinidad and Tobago. Due to financial constraints, I am not in a position to access the surgery. However, due to the delay in medical treatment, I have been experiencing numerous side effects and further complications from this diagnosis. One of the major side effects is the diagnosis of “Both Eyes Advanced Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy with Tractional Retinal Detachment.” However, I was advised again that to get this treated, I would have to undergo surgery and this also cannot be done locally but overseas (Trinidad and Tobago).

 

It is in this regard that I humbly seek financial assistance from any person, organization or unit to help in the facilitation of these surgeries overseas that I so urgently need to return to a better quality of life. Thanking you in advance for your kind consideration and support.
