Jewel Tolbert
Jewel Tolbert is truly a “Jewel” to all who know her. She has whole heartedly served her community in many different capacities. She brings joy to all the lives she touches through her smile and spirit.
At Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM) she has cared for children and their families for over 37 years. Her style of care is contagious and loved by all. Her laughter can be heard throughout the entire hospital.
Jewel is a member of Triumph Church, always exhibiting a strong presence as a faithful follower and, as a volunteer for the prison mission program where Jewel has touched the lives of many by helping children visit their parent in prison.
Jewel was recently diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer which required immediate surgery. She now faces 6 months of chemo therapy. Recently, her health insurance has been cancelled and she does not have “sick time” to cover her medical and life expenses. On top of this she is also in need of a new furnace for her home. Throughout this journey, her smile has not faltered and her faith shines bright as a testimony for us all.
She has poured her heart and soul into helping so many of us. Here is our chance to give back to her. Let’s show our love and support to Jewel.
Thank you all for your giving hearts.
