Jewel Alexis Cook

Here's a story of a wonderful lady (Rikki Jones Cook) who is an absolute treasure.  Recently her daughter (Jewel Alexis Cook) was involved in a life threatening accident while away at college.  In Rikki's own words, "this feels like my worst nightmare that someone should be shaking and waking me from,  it's like one of those Lifetime Movies when something bad happens when their child is with their friends." 
While we receive daily updates and encouraging words about Jewels progress, we cannot sit idly by; we are compelled by our faith to action.  Rikki, being a single Mom with another teenager at home, would never ask for help on her own; with her Mother's (Queenie Jones) permission we would like to begin the process of making sure help is available in advance!  Along with many insurance co-pays, Rikki will face ongoing medical expenses through out Jewel's recovery process.  The reality is many of these expenses may not be covered entirely by insurance.  While we believe for swift recovery, we also know the journey will be an on going process.  This process will require support, both financially and emotionally.
Our faith is both verticle and horizontal;  we petition our God for healing for Jewel while we extend our resources to Rikki, Jewel and Jared.  What all is needed is not yet completely known, but we do not have to wait to act on Rikki and Jewel's behalf. 
When we consider how truly blessed we are, healthy children, safe homes and comfy beds, our dear friend is helping her child fight for her life and health!  Let us join our resources and make this road a little less rocky!
