Jets Story (aka Prince Khan)

Donation protected
Jet came into Ellie’s life when she was  just 13 and it was the start of  a love story.
After her dad buying her a Shetland pony at the age of 4 it soon became clear that horses and riding would be Ellie’s passion ( a very expensive one!
Jet previously had a successful show jumping career, his show name being Prince Khan, his riders included Gemma Plumley, Harry Skelton, Marteen Sapsford and Danielle Willett, this of course made Ellie a very lucky girl and Jet went on to teach Ellie the ups and downs of show jumping, some very good times they had and also some not so good!
Ellie has had several ponies over the years however Jet soon became her one and only, even after spending many times on her bum on the floor, even once breaking her collar bone it was clear that they had an amazing partnership.
As with everyone Ellie grew and started her quest to find a horse which meant she had to say goodbye to Jet and he went off to a family in Stevenage in 2011, Ellie made sure she had lots of contact and the occasional visit to make sure her beloved Jet was ok.
In 2014 it was decided by his owner that he would be sold on, guess what?? He came home to Ellie, it was obvious he was going nowhere else despite Ellie riding horses she much preferred ponies, well just one pony and he’s been with her since.
This story has a bitter twist, on Aug 18th Ellie received a phone call from the lady who owns the stables where Jet is kept to say that Jet was not himself, after having the vet out that same morning and Jet receiving treatment he had gone severely downhill by the following morning which resulted in him going to an Equine Veterinary Practice in Oakham. Last night Jet had to have emergency surgery as his colon was displaced and had sand colic causing a blockage, this morning Ellie has received the news that Jet has had a comfortable night but will have a tough few days while in recovery.
The reason for this story is due to Jet being 25 the only insurance available to him doesn’t cover such treatments and so Ellie is now facing a huge bill, although Ellie doesn’t know the exact figure she has been made aware that it could reach the £10,000 mark, money she doesn’t have.
She isn’t look for charity and to write this on her behalf is difficult but she needs help to pay Jets vet bill, any help that she can get would be gratefully appreciated to make sure Jet comes home where he belongs.
Thank you for reading Jets Story
