Jet's Surgery

As many of you know, Jet has been in my life for approximately 4 years. He is a black lab with a lot of energy. He has a lot of dog friends here in North Dakota who he loves to play with. He loves to go for runs, go for hikes, and he especially loves to go to the lake. This past weekend, Jet was out playing and running with some friends when he miss stepped in the snow and hurt his back right leg.
I took Jet to the vet as soon as I could. After taking x-rays, the vet informed me that Jet had torn his ACL. Jet is a rather large dog (110 pounds) and the vet recommended that he got surgery as soon as possible. The vet suggested getting TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery for him due to his size. This however is a very expensive surgery that I do not have the funds for. If Jet goes without the surgery, it could potentially cause him to tear his ACL in his other leg.
Jet means the absolute world to me.
A little about us as a family: I adopted him from a humane society when I lived in Iowa. I was in a very dark and depressing point in my life. I had just graduated from college and took a job that required me to move away from everyone that I loved. I would come home every day after work to an empty house. My world went from dark to light in a matter of days when I brought this little black puppy home. He lit up every single day for me! I loved coming home to his smiling face.
As Jet got older, I got into a very serious relationship. Jet and I ended up moving from Iowa to South Dakota to North Dakota together. We were best buds and nothing was going to change that; not even a relationship with another human. Sadly three years went by and the relationship ended... but Jet was still there. He never left my side. He dried up my tears day in and day out for a good six months after the break up. He would be waiting for me every night when I got home from work. And he would always have a huge smile on his face when I walked through the door. He never stopped loving me and he never stopped being there for me. I have never loved anything in my life as much as I love him. He has been through some of my worst days with me and he still loves me. I would do anything for him and now it is my turn to be there for Jet. No matter how big or how old Jet gets... He will always be my baby!
This is why I am asking for help... something I've never been very good at. I was raised with the philosophy that I should do things on my own (especially finanicially). I think this is a crucial point in my life where I need to step out of my comfort zone and ask for help. All donations will be funded for Jet's surgery/therapy. I know some of you may not be able to donate money, and that is perfectly okay! Prayers are always accepted. Jet and I are both very appreciative in all the help and support we've got from our friends and family. We love you :)
