Support Jess’s fire relief fund

Hi, my name is Jess and on July 30th I lost my home and all my earthly belongings in the McKinney fire, in Siskiyou County, California. With only minutes to flee the approaching inferno I managed to grab my dog, some clothing, and nothing else as I narrowly escaped with my life. While I am truly grateful to be alive, I am now facing the daunting task of rebuilding my life from scratch.

Everything I had was put towards buying this property and home just two years prior. Unfortunately, insurance companies refused to insure my home or property because I lived in a modern yurt as my house; though it is clear that no type or style of home could have survived this fire as my steel cargo trailer, concrete and metal were reduced to ash. Along with all the possessions in my home, 40 years of art collected, photo albums, family items handed down from my grandparents, things that are truly irreplaceable, I also lost my shop and all the tools and materials for my wood working business, making the task of earning wages for paying bills and daily living expenses very challenging. 

All funds donated will go directly towards the task of rebuilding my life; buying tools, personal belongings, a travel trailer for temporary living space, daily living expenses, paying bills, money towards clean up of the property, and either rebuilding or potentially buying land elsewhere.
