Today my fiancé Jesse was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma .
He’s been extremely sick with horrible flu like symptoms the past few months. He has had fevers of 103 that where unbreakable , vomiting , chills , cold sweats and extreme weight loss!
The hospital admitted Jesse over a week ago. The doctors had no idea what was causing such extreme symptoms and ran every test they could think of (blood test , mri , cat scan , ultrasound , biopsy and multiple blood transfusions). After removing a lymphonde in his neck, they were finally able to confirm he has Hodgkins lymphoma!!
This news was devastating! We are a young couple, engaged, planning our future and had just decided we were ready to expand our little family!
One of jesse's biggest dreams was to have a child! Unfortunately doctors explained to us that after the chemotherapy and radiation, he will not be able to have his own children!
Jesse is a kind, funny, hardworking man. But above all else he's an amazing uncle! He adores all of his nieces and nephew and they adore him. He is going to make such a great father one day.
We aren't giving up hope on fulfilling mine and jesses dream!
We were informed that we can freeze his sperm before he starts chemotherapy and then start the process of ivf!
Unfortunately one round of ivf is 15,000$ and it normally takes more than one round to work, I struggle with fertility issues already but we are praying we will be able to start a family one day . Sperm freezing is 1000$ and can be held up to one year.
Unfortunately Jesse suffered a permanent lay off in March due to covid-19 meaning he no longer has any medical coverage and I have had to take a significant decrease in hours at work to help care for Jesse through this difficult time.
We are looking to hopefully raise 35,000$ to cover all of his medical expenses , one round of ivf and to help cover the costs of bills.
