Jesse "Big Sexy" Deer was a media mogul at 23, and he made a huge impact on the local media scene, comprised of a newspaper, radio, TV, online news component and Mohawk Council media (KTV).

He is dearly missed every single day and his humour, hard work and caring for the Mohawk community of Kahnawake made him stand out among his peers as one of the few youth so connected with collective impact thinking for his age.

In 2010 we launched the first Jesse Deer Memorial Media Scholarship and have been giving it our every year since to one student.

We have enough to keep giving the scholarship out for a few years, but we need your help to keep it going forever!

Each year we give $1,000 to a Kahnawake student who is enrolled in media-related post secondary studies.

Help us keep Jesse's name and memory bright in the minds of our youth by helping us reach our goal today!
