Jeremiah Rodriguez was born with complex congenital heart defects specifically dextrocardia, pulmonary stentosis atrioventricular defect. Dextrocardia is a rare heart condition in which your heart points toward the right side of your chest instead of the left side. Dextrocardia is congenital, which means people are born with this abnormality.
At only 2 months of age Jeremiah underwent the Norwood procedure to create a new functional systemic circuit within his heart. At 6 months he underwent the Glenn procedure as part of the surgical treatment plan to get oxygen through out his lungs and body. We received news recently that his heart valves is leaking, which is not good for his work load on his heart. Jeremiah had a 12 hr surgery on Thursday July 20th and was sent home on August 4th where he recovered beautifully.
Well we are back in PICU today Jeremiah was admitted on September 18th 2017 he has been bleeding from his lungs and they are trying to find out what and why this happened. He is intubated and they are keeping him heavily sedated so he won't be under stress. We are in shock and are trying to wrap our heads around how Jeremiah could go from playing and laughing to being in a hospital bed not able to move ,talk, or play. This is the hardest thing we have faced. I'm asking if you all can Keep him in your prayers.
I am Jeremiah's mom Priscilla and Dad is joseph we are from corpus but have lived in San Antonio for eight years now. Dad and I would like to be with Jeremiah and will have no income for time spent in hospital. This will help with medical expenses etc. he also has a savings account where we put his money in.
Our little heart warrior is a very happy loving little boy who adores his siblings and can't get enough football! He's always smiling and spreading his love wherever he goes!
