Hi all.
A very good person and friend within the skating community Jenny Schneider (16yo) had become ill over new-year suffering a few seizures in the heat. Further investigation led to a diagnosis of a brain tumour a few days later. Several scans produced conflicting results, but the consensus was that it needed to be operated on which was done in mid-January. Not all of the tumour could be removed surgically to preserve brain function and movement on the right-hand side. The Biopsy result indeed proved the worst of the two scans to be correct and was classified as a Grade 3 Diffuse Anaplastic Astrocytoma. Jenny will undergo rounds of Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy to hopefully destroy what’s been left behind.
Deborah (Jenny’s mum) has not been able to work since this has happened, and being sick is not cheap even with Medicare and some private health cover, so we seek to resolve some of the financial burden for this wonderful family.
I would like to think that between us all, we can guarantee that the family has enough cash flow to ensure timely and high-quality treatment and medications as well as some small modifications to their house to make Jenny’s stay at home more comfortable (one A/C in her bedroom).
Jenny is a bright, beautiful and well-spoken young lady. She has a smile for everyone she meets, she is young, fit, strong and determined to beat this. Jenny is well known and has touched many lives within our community. If you can donate and support the family in their time of need with some spare cash, please contribute to this gofundme campaign.
