HELP US SURPRISE OUR FRIEND, JENNA RICHARDS!!!

Because she would never ask anyone for help, some of her friends in the blogging world have joined together to give her the best  surprise ever- getting her health back.

In 2012, Jenna was bit by a tick while living and working on the East Coast. She became extremely sick afterwards and tested positive on a Western Blot test for Lyme Disease and multiple serious co-infections. The next few years she saw numerous medical doctors, specialists and holistic practitioners. The first year of treatment she lost 25 pounds and was bedridden for months.

Lyme Disease is an invisible disability. It is a life-altering illness and, like most chronic illnesses, it is a roller coaster of "okay" days and bad days. You can look and feel fine one day and wake up the next morning feeling like death. There is always a price to pay for overdoing on a "good" day, making it impossible to make plans in advance. Lyme Disease is not a disease of faking sick. It's a disease of faking "well."

Lyme bacteria can bore their way into tissues and organs, causing literally hundreds of symptoms. Some of Jenna's main symptoms are nausea, blurry vision, right-sided numbness, bone and joint pain, insomnia, and crushing fatigue. Imagine coming down with the worst flu symptoms you've ever had and it doesn't go away.

With time, Jenna's health improved a little (not much) and she married Chase Richards in 2014. The next year she gave birth to a baby boy, Jack. At that time she felt the best she had since getting sick. But after Chase's sudden and unexpected death in 2016, her symptoms have returned with a vengeance.

Throughout the course of this illness Jenna has kept a positive attitude. She can always be found helping someone and is one of the most generous, kind, and loving people we know. She has the ability to think about others, even at times when she is barely surviving herself.

During the peak of her illness, Jenna laid in bed and did online fundraisers to help others with their treatment costs and made care packages to cheer up other Lyme sufferers. She would even juice fruits and vegetables and deliver it to others who were sick in her area. If anyone is deserving of our help, it's Jenna.

Jenna's best hope for remission is stem cell treatment, but it is extremely expensive. A treatment plan for Lyme Disease can easily last for years. Herbal supplements cost hundreds a month and antibiotics can be as much as $1,500 to $2,000 a month. Research has also proven that Lyme bacteria can live in the teeth, causing severe dental issues. Jenna is also in need of extensive dental work, but has no dental or medical insurance since Chase's death.

After years of helping others, Jenna now needs our help. If you want to join our campaign and help our once vibrant, healthy friend get better. Any donation, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated.
