Dear Family and Friends,
My mother-in-law, Jenn Mangloña, was diagnosed with Cervical Radiculopathy secondary to mixed Degenerative Disc and Osteophytes Complex with Neural Canal Stenosis C4 to C7and Spinal Stenosis secondary to Degenerative Disc and Facet Artrosis.
Needing a second opinion she had to leave her island of Guam and travel to the Philippines. Jenn was accompanied by her husband Benny and two daughters, Melissa and Trisha, by her side for support regarding her chronic lower back pain.
On February 1st, was her first day in the Philippines where she met with an Orthopedic Surgeon to discuss her spine, who then requested her to get an MRI and X-ray. She met with a Rheumatologist regarding her joint pain, who then requested some lab work along with an EKG due to her shortness of breath. Day 2, she met with a Neurologist for her chronic headaches and a Urologist. Over the course of the next couple of days, my mother-in-law had to attend appointment after appointment. February 8th, the family flew back to their island of Guam with heavy anticipation regarding the results of the MRI, CT Scan, X-Ray’s, and Lab work.
February 13th, it was confirmed that my mother-in-law will have to undergo two surgeries and will fly back to the Philippines to receive the proper medical treatment. Her 1st surgery has been scheduled for February 28th and if all goes well the 2nd surgery will follow 3 days later. She will need to stay 3-4 weeks after for the recovery process.
Due to having to relocate for the month, it has put a financial burden on our family. We have decided to open this account to try and ease her stress so she may solely focus on herself and her recovery. Although uncomfortable and in constant pain due to the C-collar/ Neck brace, my mother-in-law is always in good spirits and laughing with her grandchildren. My mother-in-law, Jenn, is the most selfless person I have ever met, always putting others before herself.
On behalf of the Mangloña family, we greatly appreciate any donations.
