Help African women start a business

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Linda Vitell and I'm fundraising on behalf of a local, home-grown, business based in Kibera, Nairobi. Kibera is the largest urban slum in Africa, with over one million inhabitants living in extreme poverty. Our goal is to create jobs for women in Kibera where they can earn an income through manufacturing of hand-made jewelry. This income will help them to take care of their children, in what is one of the most challenging environments for a mother.

The ultimate ambition is that the business itself will be completely self-sufficient, not relying on charity or donations. With that said, we need help with the start-up investment capital for raw material, tools and other initial costs for the first few months. Any donation you can make is greatly appreciated and will help to get this business up and running and give these women the best possible chance for success, stability and happiness.

Thank you!

P.S. I will post regular updates on the progress of the business here.
