Caring for Cindy

I have been told many times lately, It's easier to ask for forgiveness than get permission.  So, here I go.  My name is Heather and I'm the daughter of Tom and Cindy Schreiner.  They have gone through a tough two years and now going on the third year.  You first need to know this is something they would never do but they are the first people that would help you if you ask or before you ask.  I know my parent's wouldn't like this to be called "gofundme" so I will be calling it a fundraiser which I believe it's called.  I want to give you a short story with their hardship in the last two years.

On Thanksgiving 2014, my dad had surgery due to appendix rupturing and ended up paying $5100.00 with insurance.  Then in May 2015, my mom was diagnosed with rectal cancer which she has had radiation, chemo and surgery which of course met max on insurance $6100.00.  My mom just started second round of chemo December 2015.  The plan will be to do chemo for 4 months and then surgery to reverse colostomy.   She will then meet her max on insurance which is around $6000.00.

I'm trying to help raise money for medications not covered by insurance, gas money to upcoming specialist appointments (ex. hydration) and type of ostomy supplies (that she needs for her skin issues) that insurance won't cover.  She will be meeting her deductible and max out of pocket  in the next month or so with the chemo plan, ostomy supplies, surgery and further imaging scans.
