Help Jeff Monk Heal Totally

On Dec. 9th 2016, after 12 weeks of investigative tests, concluding with a bone marrow biopsy, my partner of 15 years Jeff Monk and I (Sue Hemphill) were told he has a rare leukemia (blood and bone marrow) called Lymphoplasmacytic Lymphoma (LPL). What an extreme BLOW for us, a scary intense situation that we never imagined we would ever be dealing with, and since the fall of 2016 it is now our main focus.
Though conventional western medicine view of his cancer is that it is not curable, since day one our goal has been TOTAL HEALING; which we know is possible if the body, mind and spirit are given the right conditions. Jeff is being very closely monitored (weekly) by his long-time GP, our Chinese Doctor, our Doctor of Naturopathy (in Montreal), the Winnipeg CancerCare oncologist, and me . All of Jeff’s Doctors agree that he is significantly immune compromised right now. We are deviating from the norm and are taking an inter-disciplinary approach. We hope to, if possible, avoid conventional treatment altogether. As Frank Zappa said, “without deviation there is no progress.”
Those who know Jeff know he is an upfront, upstanding, health conscious guy (past runner and current cyclist) and has contributed to our community in many visible and not so visible ways, one visible example volunteering (for many years) as a music reviewer / writer for Uptown. He is unique, talented, helpful, dedicated, hard working, clever, passionate, discerning, charming, funny and fun-loving. He is a devoted son, brother, colleague, neighbour, and friend to his small circle of friends. He is an extraordinary father to our two adult children (daughter 25 and son 23) and a committed and loving life partner. He has enriched our lives and hopes / intends to keep doing so for many more years.
To reach this goal we can’t do it alone. We need a whole community of people to get behind Jeff and support his plan to heal his body naturally. He has the will, the discipline, the faith, the medical support, the family and partner support to do it! What he doesn’t have is the money for the treatments. As many of you know, the natural treatments are not completely covered or covered at all by Medicare or health plans. We are setting up this fundraising campaign to make it easier for people who want to help Jeff, or me, or our cause. Together we can make it possible for Jeff to have the funds to be able to pay for the necessary medical treatments (for his life and long term healing). The costs of the medical treatments over three years will come to over $50,000. We hope the campaign will reach half of that: $25,000.
