Unlocking Potential: A Chicago Heights Studio

Donation protected
Chicago Heights is a city ripe with untapped creative potential, but it lacks the dedicated space and resources needed to nurture that talent. Who better to fill this void than one of its own success stories, Emmy-nominated cinematographer Joshua "Black Awesomeness" Argue?

Josh's connection to the community runs deep. A native son of Chicago Heights and a proud alumnus of Bloom Township High School, he understands firsthand the transformative power of having a creative outlet. Starting his filmmaking journey at the young age of 11, Josh climbed the ranks to become a respected professional by 20. He honed his craft initially with the Baltimore Ravens, moved on to lead photography for the Phoenix Suns, and later excelled in unscripted television series. His membership in elite organizations like the Cinematographers Guild and the Society of Camera Operators attests to his skills and recognition within the industry.

His portfolio includes highly acclaimed projects like "Real Husbands of Hollywood," "The Amazing Race," and "The Biggest Loser," each a testament to his storytelling prowess and technical expertise. Josh has a unique ability to capture life's raw moments with authenticity, bringing a fresh and compelling perspective to the entertainment industry.

But beyond his accomplishments, Josh brings something else to the table: a proven commitment to diversity and inclusion. In 2014, he founded "BLACK AWESOMENESS FILMWORKS" to help African Americans find opportunities in the entertainment field, leveraging his industry connections and experience to break down barriers.

Given Josh's deep roots in Chicago Heights, his unparalleled expertise, and his passion for elevating underrepresented voices, he is the perfect person to create a creative space that the community not only needs but truly deserves.
