My Transition

My name is Jay. I am a 19 year old transgender man from the UK. I started my journey three years ago, and have recieved little to no support from professionals regarding my transition. Although I am grateful for the NHS, the waiting time for transgender individuals such as myself is excruciatingly long. For almost two years, I have been on the waitling list for the Gender Clinic, and I have had no information regarding my position on the list, no letters no phone calls, nothing. Because of the wait, my mental health is still not good, the dysphoria I experience daily is too much to handle, it interferes with normal things such as going to university, being in public and interacting with others. Unfortunately because I am still pre Testosterone, I do not pass. This makes me feel unsafe in certain situations, even just walking down a street, I am constantly looking over my shoulder. My plan is to go private, at least for Testosterone, to help ease my dysphoria and improve my mental health as this is what I feel I need more than anything. I am saving as much as I can but I am a student and currently searching for jobs. This is why I am asking for help, I would appreciate anything, even just for you to share my story with others.
