Jaymison Strong

On Thursday, September 24th Jaymison (9 years old) was sent home from school after the teacher noticed a mild shake and he said he had a headache. On Friday, September 25th his parents took him to his ENT Specialist who sent him directly to the ER for an MRI. The MRI showed a large tumor on his brain which lead to him being life flighted to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for immediate surgery. Since then, Jaymison has undergone multiple brain surgeries, MRIs, and testing. 

On October 9th Jaymison was diagnosed with Pineoblastoma which is a rare cancer that starts in the pineal gland of the brain. On October 13th Jaymison had a craniotomy to remove as much of the tumor as possible before starting radiation and chemotherapy. 

A prayers page has been created to keep everyone updated on Jaymison’s condition (PrayersForJaymison). The community has been asking how they can help so we decided to create this page to support the family. Both parents are missing work while staying in UPMC Children’s with Jaymison and his 14 year old brother is not permitted to stay because of the pandemic. Our hope is to help Bill and Cirstin Redman (Jaymison’s parents) with any traveling, medical expenses, financial burdens, or things Jaymison needs or wants during this difficult time.
