Jayme Gardens survival fund
Jamie Wilcox and Jayme Garden have been married since 2015. They moved to Ukiah in 2016 from Oregon. Jamie Wilcox was a beloved cook at the Ukiah Brewing Company. Jayme was about to be promoted at Chipotle.
On the morning of September 23rd Jamie Wilcox and Jayme Garden were the victims of a shooting at their home in Ukiah. Jamie Wilcox was killed instantly. Jayme Garden was shot multiple times and airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
Jayme survived the attack but has serious injuries and traumas to deal with. He is without the use of his right hand and cook work is out of the question for the foreseeable future.
Jayme had to leave the property and the house he shared with his husband and dogs. Due to the nature of the circumstances of the shooting it’s not safe for him physically or emotionally to be there.
His most urgent need at the moment is housing. He needs a stable place to be able to heal mentally and physically. He wants to find a place in Ukiah where he can have his dog Bruce.
He will also need transportation at some point. His car was destroyed in the shooting. He will have some money from disability coming in but the wheels of bureaucracy are moving too slowly and really needs some funds in the meantime to secure stable housing so he can have a firm footing to deal with the aftermath of this nightmare.
