Help Jay Huffer

Our friend Jay Huffer has lived with a progressive neurological condition for the past 15 years known as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.  CMT is a degenerative nerve disease that causes permanent muscle weakness and loss of sensation in the extremities.  For Jay, the disease has progressed to his hands and arms with increasing numbness and tingling in the hands.   Despite these debilitating symptoms, Jay continued working as a tennis pro as long as he physically could.  Jay knew that one day his coaching days would come to an end.

Last week, due to the progression of Jay's disease, he had to finish his work at HealthTrack Sports Wellness, where he was a tennis pro for the last 10 years of his  professional tennis career.  Jay's coaching and encouragement, music selection at drills and round robins, perpetual smile and teasing, meant so much to so many.   As the symptoms of CMT continue to progress, Jay will need considerable assistance with daily care, living arrangements, medication, and treatment.   

 The best way to help Jay right now is to donate to this fund.  Funds will be used to help Jay with his most urgent medical and living expenses, which are mounting.  On the top of this list is continued health insurance, home support so he can remain independent, living expenses and assistance so he can hopefully move to a residence that is wheelchair accessible.  Please consider donating, and as they say, no gift is too small, and every gift will be put to good use.
