Jason's Story

                  Jason Michael Kuntz
is a third grade teacher and a lifelong resident of Southwest Michigan.  Jason never met a stranger, if you met him just one time, you knew him; stocking shelves at the local Martin's grocery story, at church on Sunday morning, or you were in one of the classes he taught at Buchanan or River Valley Schools.  You might be one of the lucky participants in his history club or attended one of his history presentations within your community.  You might have heard him announcing Friday night football or Saturday afternoon basketball games with Regional Radio Sports Network.  Perhaps you are a student, or parent of a child who has a newfound love for history because of him.  He is kind, an amazing storyteller, loves history; both studying it and teaching it, loves his family and Jesus.  Whenever Jason had a conversation with you, it was passionate, and many times, entertaining!
Jason has touched so many lives in his 32 years.  If you ever had the privilege of having a conversation with Jason it was either deep and thought provoking, or he was razzing you for not being a Michigan fan!  He remembers the small details of every encounter he has with you.
Recently, Jason had a very delicate brain surgery to remove a tumor on the thalamus.  Following the surgery, he suffered a hemorrhage within the brain that has caused irreparable damage.  Following several weeks of care in the hospital, his family received the news that he is not likely to recover.  He is now receiving loving care at the home of his parents, Mike and Sharon, and brother Bryan at his side, and with the support of the Hanson Hospice Center.

How You Can Help

So many people have asked how they can help.  As a family, we have united together to create this Go-Fund-Me page to support Jason during this difficult time.  The money raised will be used to cover medical expenses, current care needs, and with hope, a memorial tribute in his honor.
If you know Jason well, you know he has never said an unkind thing to anyone, however, he wrote this on his Facebook post prior to his surgery:

"I want to apologize to any one of you that I may have wronged (in any way) in the past.  I think you are all amazing people whom I love.  If I have ever wronged any of you (or you think I have), I want you to know I'm                              truly sorry and hope for your forgiveness.  I love you all and pray for GOD's blessing on you all always!  I LOVE YOU ALL!"

Jason, we LOVE you and you have been nothing but KIND for your entire 32 years!  We know how much you love and value family, so as a family, we are here to support you.
