Jason Brown began flying with his grandfather when he was a child. He soloed an airplane when he turned 16 and earned his pilot's license at 17. Jason became a flight instructor and later Assistant Chief Instructor at AeroDynamic Aviation. He wanted to spend his life sharing the joy aviation had given him by teaching others to fly. His favorite was teaching in tailwheel aircraft.
On April 11, 2021, Jason succumbed to an illness he had been battling for a few months. His family and friends were shocked and saddened by his sudden departure. He was only 37 years old. Everyone whose life he touched was inspired by his jolly demeanor, his funny antics, his flying capability, and his energy to learn more, be more and do more.
Jason will be remembered for the joy he brought to those he knew. He was always there to lend a hand to all in need. He will forever be the champion of cool flying shirts and the viking beard. Jason was an integral part of the soul of AeroDynamic. He was an amazing instructor and an even better friend.
To best honor his memory, AeroDynamic Aviation is engraving an Instructor's Bench in Jason's name. They will also disperse his ashes in Monterey Bay, complete with a missing man formation flight with all their airplanes. Their final goal is to create a scholarship fund for tailwheel students in Jason's name, to be awarded each year as funds allow.
