Student Exchange Program to Japan

My name is Brenda Carter, and I am the liaison for Pontiac School District Japanese student exchange program. On October 22, 2017, ten student ambassadors from Pontiac Middle School and Pontiac ITA will travel to Kusatsu, Shiga Prefecture, Japan to study with Japanese middle school students.
We plan to use to money to fund the airfare and incidentals for our ten ambassadors and their chaperones. The airfare is needed as soon as possible to meet our June 1, 2017, deadline.
Our middle school students will be living with Japanese students for twelve days. They will be living in Japanese homes and learn with Japanese students. Japan has a 98% literacy rate. The student exchange program will be a life-changing experience for our students.
Studying in Japan will enable our students to prepare for future jobs, which will advance economic development in Pontiac and surrounding areas. They will have the opportunity to learn their language and culture. We will be giving these student ambassadors a chance to be part of our global community. Their successful journey means the world to me.
