INTRODUCTION
My name is Amelia Herrera, 23 years old from Malmö, Sweden. I'm studying the Directing program at Prague Film School were I already have spent 1,5 years of working on sets and making films with fellow students.
For my last year studying, I am making my very last original short film called January 11th, a 20 page long drama that I started outlining and writing two years ago. I have been developing the script from May 2019, and is now completely finished. It is an incredible joy that I can finally make this film with an awesome crew.
January 11th is a beautiful LGBTQ story were we show forbidden, intense love, abuse and the cost of being who you are and who you love as the homophobic society increases.
LOGLINE
In the early 90’s, with the LGBTQ community feeling threatened, JOY, an unapologetic gay artist meets a young, married woman, OLIVIA, who discovers her true self which had previously been suppressed by her abusive and homophobic husband.
HOW CAN YOU HELP
I would be extremely thankful and pleased to recieve any kind of help to be able to show January 11th on the big screen by the end of May 2020. Me and my crew would be forever thankful.
By helping with this project you will get your name in the credits in the film as a backer. This is a great thing, and it shows how you made this film possible for a film student with a huge dream.
The funds will reach my private saving account right into my bank were I will keep it safe. Every single penny helps!
WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
The money will go to:
Talent - Our actors are extremely talented and we will of course pay them for their hard work.
Locations - After months of location scouting, we now have found perfect locations that fits the theme and mood.
Art direction & Props - This film is going to be packed with 90's props and art direction, a heavy amount of money will be spent here to make it look as believable as possible.
FX Make up artist - For an awesome FX make up artist that will give each characters their own specific look and taste.
Costume designer - A hard working costume designer with a lot of experience and work behind her back, super talented and loyal.
Post production - for amazing music to increase the film's style and mood 100 % more. Also for a grader that will make the film look beautiful.
Transport - For moving ourselves to locations and equipment where it has to be.
Crew - Talented crew from outside of school that will make sure this film looks as epic as possible.
Food - Believe it or not, but most of the money will go to food, coffee and snacks. To keep us all alive and well during this intense shoot.
We can assure that the money will be held safe and that it gets spent on all the above. You will get your name in the production credits and also get a free pass to the premiere screening!
