Jani McCaffrey - funeral expenses and memorial

Jani McCaffrey was a 42 year old single mother of her 6 year old son, Gallo.  She died of an aneurysm on New Year's Day.  She was participating in a work program through the Dept of Human Services as a volunteer to gain job skills and experience in order to take care of her son.  For the last year she had been living with me because she had nowhere else to stay due to internal problems in her family over her father's estate and left homeless by her sisters.  Gallo is my god son and I loved having them stay with me.  Her mother lived out of state in a seniors only complex but visited as often as she could. Her mother and I are both retired on fixed incomes and doing our best to cover all costs and keep Gallo's life as normal as possible.  Jani was loving and caring, she helped me through 2 surgeries. When were a team with Gallo as our center.  Her mother and I are asking for help for her funeral costs and memorial donations for Gallo.  There will be legal expenses to help prevent his aunts that left him and his mother homeless from trying to get him in order to have control of any benefits from his grandfather's estate.  He will continue to live with me and be close to his school and friends while his grandmother makes arrangements for him to live with her.
Jani loved her son, and was so excited that we were all able to give Gallo a happy Christmas.  I loved her.  Her mother and I want to continue giving him the love and care she would want.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE:  Jani's sister has temp custody of Gallo. The family law attorney required a $3000 retainer and may need more later.  Thanks to all for your donations.
