Janet's Medical Expenses Abroad

My mom and my Aunt have started conquering mountains across the world in the last few years. This year they trained and trained to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and they made it! 

Unfortunately, the day after their climb my mom began to have severe abdominal pain. She had to be air lifted to a hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. She had emergency surgery to remove her appendix and half of her colon. Since Monday September 4th she has been recovering in a hospital in Nairobi. We need to get her home back to the United States so that she can get the proper care she needs. She will be flying home this Sunday and we are very worried about how she will handle the 23 hours of flying back to Chicago. I would love to be able to afford for a medical escort to take care of her on her flight back but it is out of my reach. 

Before she leaves the hospital my parents will also have to pay $15,000 for her hospital stay out of pocket. 

I want to thank my family and friends for supporting me and my family through this tough time. Everyone has been amazing and I could not ask for better people in my life.
