Janessa's Journey

This is Janessa - a wonderful, kind, thoughtful, intelligent, creative and beautiful soul. I've been lucky to call her my bestie for the past 20 years and counting. She's a successful professional in the higher education space with a passion for diversity, inclusion and her Filipina American roots. She has achieved so much in her 34 years and still has so much to offer. Janessa is a fantastic friend, loving daughter, caring sister, aunt, cousin and an amazing wife. With your kindness and generosity, we can also help in growing her family someday. 

In March 2019, Janessa was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. When her journey started, one of the first decisions she and her high school sweetheart, Mike, had to make was to ensure the opportunity of a future family would remain possible even after her cancer-fighting days. As a result, they started the process of fertility preservation - which includes ovarian stimulation, retrievals, fertilization and egg freezing. 

It was a successful procedure, but with the continuous costs associated with fertility preservation/reproductive health, Mike and Janessa could use a bit of our help. Janessa is already a champion at conquering chemotherapy, a breast lumpectomy and radiation. Although she is a cancer thriver, her cancer journey is far from over as she will continue to require multiple doctor visits with her oncology and fertility/reproductive health care team.
