Jane Hammarlund
Friends,
Jane had a heart attack in 2009. A year ago her heart was damaged by a virus which limited her ability to do many of the tasks she could do. In March she got a pacemaker put in, but was still having problems with her heart. A few weeks on November 14th, Jane was admitted to the emergency room where she nearly passed away due to complications with her heart. Jane believes she was saved by the prayers of her prayer team.
While Jane's heart has limited her ability to work, her husband Cliff had been carrying the load for the family working gig jobs. He was an Uber/LYFT driver and pizza delivery driver. As Covid-19 infections increased, Cliff's doctor advised him that his jobs were too risky given his health vulnerabilities as well as Jane's. So, Cliff stopped working to take care of Jane. They have been hoping to make it through the pandemic and then Cliff is planning to go back to work. They have been surviving on Covid loans, unemployment payments and food stamps.
Cliff was on federal Covid unemployment until it ran out. Now that the federal government has stopped subsidizing unemployment, Jane and Cliff are having trouble paying their bills and paying for the cost of her heart medicine. Their rent is $1,500 per month and Jane's medicine is $380 per month. They are currently in a situation where they will likely not be able to pay for rent in December and January. They've applied from Medicaid, but got denied. Jane believes that if they can make it through January, Cliff can either go back to work or there will be additional assistance once the new administration gets in to bridge them until the Covid vaccine is available.
Jane would like to raise $2,500 to help them with their December and January expenses.
