Jana's fight against cancer
My sister Jana Nicolay was diagnosed with aggressive Triple Negative Stage 3 Breast Cancer in the Summer of 2014. At the age of 33, she underwent a double mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. She has since endured numerous scans, surgeries, blood transfusions, port placements, chemo sessions, radiation treatments, new drugs, hair loss, extreme nausea and chronic fatigue. Jana and her husband Jeff have two young boys who have watched Mommy go through numerous surgeries and are trying to comprehend why she is so ill.
Those who know Jana understand that she is one of the most helpful, passionate and fiercely caring people around. She will do anything in her power to help others in need. Now, it's our turn to help Jana and her family in their time of need.
Jana was very recently given the heartbreaking and devastating news that her breast cancer has now metastasized into her lungs. She came down with pneumonia in January, has had two failed thoracentesis and will have VATS surgery on her lungs to drain every bit of extra fluid February 21.
Even after this new and extremely crushing news, Jana continues to find every ounce of positivity in her life. She amazes me!!
This money being raised will go toward funding medications, surgeries, home medical equipment to provide a higher level of comfort. In addition, the funds will help provide travel expenses to enable the family to travel beyond California to receive other professional opinions and treatment options.
Jana is a fighter! She will win this battle! Please join me in helping ease this financial burden that has fallen on Jana and her family. They need all the support, love and prayers they can get.
