Jamestown Families Cancer Care (Karen Bolen)

Karen was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer in December 2021. She spent 12 months trying a variety of different chemo treatments - not because there was a chance she'd be cured, but to simply have the opportunity to spend just a little longer with her family. Chemo treatments stopped this past December after they were no longer effective, but Karen didn't let that get her down. She kept fighting, and she continued fighting for four more months. Karen lost her hard-fought battle on Thursday, May 4, 2023. During the coarse of her fight, a local organization called Jamestown Families Cancer Care was there to help every step of the way. This non-profit organization assists members of Jamestown families with cancer. They provide help with groceries, gas, and other needs the families might have. They also deliver gifts to their recipients just to cheer them up. Karen received such items as blankets/quilts, baked goods, cards, etc. which really brightened her day. Volunteers help with this program by donating their time and effort putting together gift bags and delivering items to the homes of these patients. In Karen's honor, we are asking that you consider donating to this exceptional organization. We would like to give back as a thank you for all they gave to Karen over the last 16 months.
