Jameson's Journey

Donation protected
Derek and Carlie Brown were thrilled to find out they were having TWINS to add to their family of three. Unfortunately at 20 weeks, they were told one baby has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. To summarize, HLHS affects normal blood flow through the heart. The left ventricle along with certain valves are underdeveloped. During pregnancy, the rest of the baby will develop fine with the help of mom’s blood flow and the baby’s ductus arteriosus and foramen ovale. These are openings in the heart to allow blood flow while in utero that will close shortly after birth. After Jameson is born, the left side of his heart will not be able to pump oxygen-rich blood to the rest of his body.

Carlie will have many appointments in Pittsburgh from now until the twins are born, which is also where she will be delivering. This is about a two hour travel one way.  Immediately following birth, Jameson will have his first surgery and will spend a minimum of four weeks in Pittsburgh. Typically with HLHS three surgeries are necessary.

With a 2 year old at home and obstacles ahead of them, the last thing we want them to worry about is finances. Every donation will go to Carlie and Derek in helping them pay for medical expenses along their journey with Emmett, Everly, and Jameson.

Prayers are also welcomed and encouraged. Thank you so much in advance ❤️
