James Gatke Sr. Beating Cancer Fund
Donation protected
Mr. Gatke was diagnosed with diabetes in November 2016. He spent this past year changing his diet and exercising. In the past few months, his weight dropped dramatically down to 141 pounds. He went to the doctor November 28, 2017 and was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic and liver cancer. A month later, he was told that without treatment, he only has 3 months to live. He will be starting a very difficult chemotherapy treatment at the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center’s Comprehensive Cancer Services (Berkeley, CA), to hopefully shrink the cancer enough to be surgically removed. He is optimistic that he will overcome this.
Everyone that was ever blessed with the opportunity to meet this man, knows he has served his country as a Marine, he’s a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, and a very caring friend. He’s always willing to help, and always puts friends and family before himself.
He now has the toughest battle ahead of him and needs everyone’s support. Whether it’s prayers, monetary donations, or just letting him know you’re rooting for him through calls, texts, emails, letters, or cards. Let’s show him that we are thinking about him, we are cheering for him, and that he nor his family is going through this alone.
Please share this GoFundMe page on social media with all your friends, family and anyone who knows Mr. Gatke. Help spread the word! All funds will be allocated to his wife to help with medical expenses, bills, and anything else that’s needed for this battle and recovery.
With great appreciation, I thank you in advance. - Theresa
