James’ Beach Employee Aid Fund
Donation protected
This March, to help the fight against Covid 19, James’ Beach closed its doors and as a result, we had to lay off most of our staff. We reopened days later for pick up and delivery, committed that after 24 years in Venice, we will be there through this crisis for our community; providing good spirit, comforting food and drinks with deals and affordable prices.
The heart of James’ Beach, however, is our wonderful staff, and we are deeply concerned for them and their families. Many have filed for unemployment, but the system is backlogged. In addition, many are legal immigrants but are afraid to apply, due to new rules set by the Trump administration that make immigrants more likely for deportation if they seek government assistance.
We started this GoFundMe to ask our beloved regulars, neighbors & friends to help provide relief for our team -- so we can all be there for you when the dust settles.
100% of proceeds raised will be donated directly to employees, focusing first on those who have not received government benefits. Please consider making a donation to help. Every single dollar counts.
Stay safe and we hope to welcome you back into a fully operating James’ Beach soon.
Gratefully
