Ja-Mel Player-Mays College Fund

In November 2017, our friend and colleague JWendy Darquee passed away unexpectedly at 37 years old.  Our JWendy was gone just like that.  And her college bound son Ja-Mel Player-Mays needs our support.

JWendy was the primary income provider for her family so now the family is anticipating financial difficulties to send Ja-Mel to college.  Family, friends and colleagues would like to help Ja-Mel by creating this college fund to help cover the demanding expense of his college tuition and related expenses.  JWendy was the driving force behind Ja-Mel’s college plans and was in process of college tours with Ja-Mel when she passed away.  We are picking up JWendy’s torch and fulfilling her life’s goal of sending Ja-Mel to college.       

Ja-Mel is motivated to achieve his Mother’s and his dreams of enrolling in college in the 2018 academic year.  He is so proud of his Mother for being a relentlessly strong single parent and anchor in his life, and he has his Mother’s strength and determination.  We are all confident that Ja-Mel will succeed in his college plans but he will need lots of encouragement and support.

All of us who knew JWendy knew her to be selfless and compassionate.  She was joyful and gracious to everyone even if it involved extra time and effort.  Her consistent strength to overcome obstacles and make lemonade out of lemons was truly inspiring and made her downright extraordinary.  JWendy was a bright light to all of us and as a testament to the bonds she formed with family, friends and colleagues we all feel a commitment to help Ja-Mel.       

Your help is needed.  Please, consider contributing to Ja-Mel’s college fund to help fulfill JWendy’s college goal for Ja-Mel.  Truly nothing would make JWendy happier than knowing her unfinished business of sending Ja-Mel to college was realized.  Together we can truly make a difference to help keep Ja-Mel’s college future secure and honor JWendy’s bright light.
