Rezeq's Family Freedom and Safety

Donation protected
This is Rezeq Jamal Rok, a 16 year old from Khan Yunis, Gaza and he's in 11th grade. He’s currently displaced in Rafah along with his family of six. I’m organizing this fundraiser for the family so they can evacuate to Egypt for their safety and Rezeq can continue to receive his post-op brain surgery treatment that was cut short due to the war. Rezeq and his family have lost everything – their home, their belongings and, most devastatingly, several family members who were killed in the war - including their uncle and cousins, one who was only a one month old baby. Their life before the war was in agriculture and they cherished the land they were able to grow food on to support their family. They lived in a beautiful home near this land that has since been destroyed and they’ve had to abandon. Rezeq is a very bright student who would like to continue his studies and attend college one day. He is a strong child who is taking on the
responsibility of an adult trying to save his entire family. He reached out to me independently from his family to try and get help for them. His dream is to be safe with his siblings Abdulrahman, Farah, Raghad and Ahmed and parents Jamal and Rasha, outside of the current conflict so they may live a safe and happy life. The family has suffered extreme hunger and cold since October the 7th. They have no income and his father is barely able to keep the family alive. The little food that is available for purchase is prohibitively expensive because of food shortages and high demand and aid organizations are overwhelmed with requests for their supplies. Rezeq is also very fearful of losing another family member to the violence that surrounds them daily. Rezeq reached out to me for help with the hope of evacuating the family to safety in Egypt where he would also be able to continue treatment so his brain can fully heal. He’s currently on anti-seizure medication which is difficult to come by in Gaza. We have contacts on the ground once they reach Cairo that will help them secure housing and find the doctor he needs. The funds raised will be used mainly for his family’s evacuation and to secure the paperwork and passports that are needed at the border. Anything beyond that will be used for food, water, shelter, and clothing once they reach Cairo. If they are unable to cross the border due to border closings
which are sometimes both unpredictable and sudden, the funds will go towards assisting the family with basic needs on the ground in Gaza. We are praying that we can raise the money before the border closes again so that Rezeq and his family can get to safety. Please share our fundraiser widely. Every single donation helps us get a step closer to our goal.
Disclaimer:
At this time the goal we have set is sufficient but with the ever changing conditions we may be forced to change the goal in the future but we will update with any changes we encounter. Please bare in mind these are unprecedented times and situations and we are trying to navigate them blindly but to the best of our ability. This is the case for every family in this situation. We are so thankful for each and every one of you. Please share this far and wide so we can evacuate all of them at together.
