Jake’s Leukemia Triumph

Today was the most devastating day of our lives.. my precious baby boy was diagnosed with Leukemia. Our hearts are broken.

We were admitted to Children's Hospital after Jake had ran extremely high fevers for several days. They did a respiratory panel only to have everything come back negative. So then they sent us for blood work. We got the news yesterday evening that Jake needed to go to the ER to have blood test done again because his white blood cells and platelet levels were extremely low. After the test were run, the levels came back even lower. Last night they scheduled Jake for a Bone Marrow extraction which took place this morning. They examined the marrow for cancerous cells (leukemia) and they confirmed its presence this evening. We are asking for prayers. Prayers that our boy is strong enough to make it through this and that Joey and I are able to care for him the best way we know how. We know we have the best support system around.
