Jake's Eye Operation
Donation protected
Jake was born with a rare condition Lebers Congenital Amarosis and was registered blind from 3 months old. Research has been ongoing for some years at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London which Jake has been attending to help with research since he was eight,.
A new treatment involving surgery has become available and Jake will be the first patient to be offered this in the UK, not certain on results but a positive impact on his vision is hopeful.
Travel costs, accomodation and unknown other cost to go to London from Durham are so expensive and we have been given very short notice and do not want to miss this opportunity.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
