Jake Philibert's Brain Surgery

I am creating this fundraiser to try to help my brother, Jake Philibert, with his current medical burden.  Many of you know Jake already.  He is an amazing person, always laughing and he would do anything for anyone.

We have recently learned that Jake, at only 26, has a brain tumor.  He is scheduled for surgery on Monday, October 08 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.  He unfortunately is not offered the best health insurance and has incurred some medical expenses we were not expecting, I mean who would expect a large brain tumor during an MRI on your brain for an unrelated medical diagnosis.  Going in for medical issues completely unrelated, he learned of this.

We have not known long.  His MRI was September 23.  They called him back in September 24 and referred him to a neurologist, which was scheduled for yesterday, October 01.  We were optimistic that it could possibly be a large cyst, but unfortunately it is not.

After they remove the tumor, they will send it off for a biopsy to determine whether it is benign or malignant.

Jake is unaware that I have created this fundraiser to help him with his medical bills.  If anyone is feeling generous today, I cannot think of a better cause than this one right here.  If you have had the pleasure of meeting Jake before now, you know how incredible and sincere this man really is.  He is funny and he is smart and creative.  He is such an important part of our lives and our hearts are breaking for him.  Throughout the process, he has been incredibly strong.  He has not once loss his sense of humor and he's actually been comforting our mother.  He is truly an astonishing human.
